Official Competition Guidelines — Books From Children To Children 2026

Full terms and conditions. Governing law: England and Wales.

1. Eligibility

Open to children aged 0–11 residing in the United Kingdom. Entrants must be enrolled in a UK primary school or receiving home education. One entry per child. No entry fee.

2. Entry requirements

Original story (100–500 words) or poem (up to 24 lines) on the theme of Climate Change. Work must be the child’s own original creation. No AI-generated content. Previously published works not eligible.

3. Parental / guardian consent

A parent or legal guardian must submit the entry on behalf of the child. By submitting, the parent/guardian confirms they have read and agree to these guidelines and grant permission for the work to be published if selected.

4. Submission

Email to info@jaycesworldoflearning.co.uk by 11 September 2026 at midnight (UK time). Subject: BFCTC 2026 — [Child’s Name] — [Story Title]. Include: child’s full name, age, school name, city/town, parent/guardian name and contact email.

5. Theme

Climate Change. Entries should engage with this theme in any form — fiction, non-fiction, fantasy, realism, or poetry. There is no prescribed angle — we welcome all interpretations.

6. Judging

Entries judged by the Jayce’s World editorial team on: originality, creativity, engagement with theme, and age-appropriate expression. Judges’ decisions are final.

7. Prize

Selected entries will be published in the 2026 Jayce’s World anthology. Published authors receive: professional editing, author credit, a physical copy of the anthology, and an invitation to the launch event.

8. Rights

By submitting, the parent/guardian grants Jayce’s World of Learning CIC a non-exclusive licence to publish the work in the anthology and to use it in promotional materials related to the competition. The child retains copyright. No work will be used commercially outside the anthology without separate written permission.

9. Disqualification

Entries containing: plagiarism, AI-generated content, offensive language, or work not meeting the word/line count will be disqualified. Jayce’s World of Learning CIC reserves the right to disqualify any entry at its discretion.
